Bringing a depth of knowledge and experience to his role as Adviser at Sherlock Wealth, Hugh is personable, approachable and has a great sense of humour.

Holding an Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning, a Diploma of Mortgage Broking and a Bachelor of Economics from Macquarie University, Hugh draws great satisfaction from helping his clients achieve their financial and personal goals and from the strong relationships he has with them.

“I love celebrating successes but also being there to support through life’s challenges,” he said.

“It’s wonderful to watch our clients gain a sense of relief as they get closer to their goals and lifestyle independence,” he added.

Excited about the future, Hugh sees there is a great need for making a positive difference for successful Australian families, especially as the great wealth transfer continues.

His personal mantra to ‘plan in decades, think in years, work in months, and live in days,’ reflects his belief in the importance of planning for the future while still making the most of the present.

Some of Hugh’s proudest achievements include starting a family and purchasing a new home. He has recently picked up woodworking, with the goal of building toys for his son!

Spending weekends on the water with his brothers on their boat, playing tennis and salsa dancing with his wife, are some of his favourite pastimes. Hugh is passionate about environmental causes, actively supporting the Seabin Project, which aims to reduce plastic pollution in our oceans.

To his younger self, Hugh would advise: “Read, read, read. This builds knowledge slowly but surely. Always learn, always try to understand. As you go through life, learn how to manage your money in more sophisticated ways.”
